How It All Started...

After completing my undergrad in Theology, I went back into the nonprofit field. For years, I served at-risk youth and families thinking I had found the 'it' way to live out my calling. 

Fast forward to life as a young family with two under two, I made various career shifts and found myself writing more and more. But in actually I had been writing all along, I simply had not paid attention to the writing clues until I was approached by an online women's ministry brand to write an article piece. I was confused. Me, write? 'I think you guys messaged the wrong person.' Yet after several conversations, I agreed to write the article and wrestled through the fear. 

During this season, I also found myself searching for bilingual faith-based books yet kept coming up short. One afternoon, I shared my complaint with God in prayer thinking God would help point me in the direction where to look. But instead, God asked me to do it. Once again, I was met with fear but the calling had already been activated. So fear or no fear, there was no going back. 

Thus my writing and publishing search began. However, I learned quickly that unless you are a 'big-name-so-and-so' your chances of getting the attention of traditional publishers are slim to non. Then my husband came across the world of self-publishing and we began to dream of possibilities of these books we dreamed up. And what began as books to serve my little family, turned into a book movement. 

Together, we published two Bilingual Christian Family Devotionals in less than 4 months. 

I had also approached a group of women to write a chapter in what is now known as the, "Promises" Book; a collection of testimonials. I had the honor of mentoring and coaching a group of 11 women of writing and sharing their testimony in book form. Later that summer, "Promises" was published. 

3 published books in 8 months. I did it. Together we did it. I was living out the exact thing I had once been too afraid to accept in prayer. 

And now I teach others to do the same.
